I'll start with the positives. Friendly staff. Nice pub. Brilliant breakfast. Comfortable bed. Great location. Negatives. The decor and furnishings in the bedroom and the bathroom are very dated and tired. But to be fair if the owners were to refurbish the hotel, it'd cost millions and bed and breakfast would no longer be under £100 which is very rare nowadays
Ancient, quirky & rustic. Lovely bar with friendly locals, and a charming owner with dedicated staff. Don't expect city glitz!

We haven't stayed here because we live in Harleston. We had a lovely valentine's meal in the restaurant,served by friendly staff. The attention to detail and food was very good, it was the first time we had eaten there but will definitely be going again!
Very accommodating staff. I seemed to be the only person there but they laid out everything for breakfast for me. Very nice room, decent sized with a nice bathroom. Pretty much everything you could want from a hotel and very convenient for my needs.
Great hotel if a little date in the decor. Fantastic character with parts dating back to just after King Henry VIII. Staff are great and breakfast was good with a great choice. The bar had a good selection of real ales and local coders.
Wonderful, very old Hotel (Inn) from 17th century. Great rooms even for families. Very spacious rooms. The food is great including breakfast. Personal are always happy and helpful. The only fault I found is the stairs. The Hotel is Not for Wheelchair guests. Too many stairs to the first floor and no rooms on ground level. The Pub is busy most days both in the daytime and at night. Next door the Owner has opened The Swift Club where certain musical nights are held. The Pub has a ramp for Wheelchairs.
I love the black swan it's time portal to my childhood I've stayed here more than a few times over the years it's always great atmosphere Even if you're poping in for a drink or dinner . Had the pleasure of spending Christmas here the carvery dinner was beautiful x

For the price it could be better, but the rooms are incredibly comfy and stylish and the staff so efficient you wouldn’t know you are in Suffolk. The location is perfect for walks on the beach and to the shops. Food can be better but much better than the other places nearby. Everything in this town seems to be owned by ADNAMS, so there’s no escaping them! Nearby Lord Nelson serves delicious cod and chips and mushy peas. Yum. For the area you cant beat The Swan. Parking is free too.
